What is SugarRush?
SugarRush is your one stop shop for wedding planning advice and inspiration. Seeing as my family is from Ghana, I will be dropping some knowledge on planning a traditional celebration as well (not engagement ooo I beg…trad is wedding too..more to come on this!)
Why the name SugarRush?
So if you know me, you know how much I LOVE sweets. Like on the real, when I’m down, buy me a milkshake and/or RedVines (not Twizzlers) and you will quickly rise on my list of favorite people. In a chat with my roomies on what to title this blog, I knew it had to touch on my love of sweets somehow, but then things got a little deeper. One night I was praying and the name SugarRush literally dropped in my spirit. I flashed back to the times that I have shared with my friends when that special guy popped the big question. On the opposite side of the spectrum, when my male friends have been preparing to propose to the lady they consider their long lost rib, they are at a loss for words. The moment they finally pop the question (or hear the question popped) it’s like a SUGAR RUSH! Get it? If you don’t get it, see me in chambers!
So once again, we are here to mostly talk about wedding planning tips and tricks. You may be thinking, Portia…it’s not my time yet. I’m rocking my 27 dresses right now.

Second of all, I will definitely be posting some tips on how to be a wonderful maid of honor, the best bridesmaid, and an awesome guest.
