Love is NOT Canceled III: An Intimate Celebration

Good Day beautiful people! I trust you all are doing well and staying safe! Before you read this post, I highly recommend you check out my past two posts: Love is NOT Canceled I & Love is NOT Canceled II: Tips on Postponing Your Celebration

This post is dedicated to another special group of 2020 couples. If you have prayerfully decided to plan for an intimate celebration on your scheduled wedding date, YAY! This blog post is for you! Although your celebration maybe a little smaller and possibly look different than you originally planned, it can still be amazing!

Can you do me a favor? Take a moment to completely clear your mind of any preconceived notions of what a wedding should be and enter this situation with an open mind. Unconventional is totally a thing right now. Embrace this situation and get ready for the best intimate wedding ever!

Here are some tips of the steps you should take to planning your intimate celebration:

1.     Pray without ceasing! – As you can tell by now, the common theme is praying without ceasing. Listen, God is the way the truth and the light. Keep praying through the process and I promise He will show himself mighty.

2.     Discuss with your fiancé and family on how or where you would like to execute your intimate celebration- If you have a wedding planner, you definitely want to involve them in this process. They can help you with the creative parts of this too!

3.     Stay up to date on state regulations- Things are literally changing by the day, so be sure to check-in on current state regulations at least every few days so you know the restrictions that may be in place.

4.     Contact venue and vendors- Depending on the scope of your celebration and the state regulations you may not require services from all of your vendors. Please be kind when speaking with them and understand that they are being affected by the situation as well. As a person who works in the customer service industry, let me let you in on a secret. I tend to be nicer to clients that are nice to me. I will literally find ways to help them to the best of my ability.

If you are asking a vendor to remain a part of your celebration, please phrase it as a question and not a demand. They may choose to not be a part of the celebration if they are in close contact with individuals who have pre-existing conditions or are at high risk, so please be considerate.

5.     Contact your guests- I know this can be a tricky thing, but please see this link for verbiage. If you are African, don’t forget to call those “close family members” before your official email or text goes out. Don’t get yourself in trouble now!

Thanks to technology, your intimate celebration does not have to be limited to the individuals present in person. You can live-stream your celebration! Technology is not my area of expertise, so please see this link for some tips. Feel free to consult professionals as well to ensure you have the right bandwidths, etc etc.

That’s it for today! Congrats again to all of the 2020 couples. Remember, LOVE IS NOT CANCELED, we are just adjusting our plans a bit. Please remember to stay positive and optimistic.

Toodles for now, SugarBees!
